New Life-Saving Simulator for IDF Medics

One of the biggest questions which the IDF constantly deals with is how to preserve human life, in combat or during routine activity. Every year thousands of new recruits are trained to become paramedics and provide medical assistance to people in need – soldiers and civilians, Palestinians and Israelis. One new program set on teaching both staff and field soldiers about the basics of modern medicine is an emergency simulation course, located on a base near Kiryat Gat.

The course combines various methods to simulate real-life battlefields. The goal: to get soldiers as close as possible to the sensations and disorientation of being in the field, without actually sending them there. The following clip is a rare glimpse into the “Battle Simulator”, which does exactly that.
