IAF Targets Rocket-Launching Terrorist Squad in Gaza

In response to rocket fire, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) targeted a terrorist squad in the Northern Gaza Strip a short while ago. The target was a site from which rockets were fired towards the Israeli city of Be’er Sheva earlier tonight. A direct hit was confirmed.

Seven rockets have been fired at Israel in this day alone, five of which landed in the Sdot Negev Regional Council and an additional two in Be’er Sheva a short while ago. There were no casualties, but damage was sustained. 58 rockets have been launched from Gaza into Israeli territory since the beginning of 2011.

The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli civilians or IDF soldiers, and will continue to respond harshly to terror. The IDF holds the Hamas terrorist organization solely responsible for maintaining the calm in the Gaza Strip and for any terrorist activity emanating from it.
